In Cameroonian Adventist secondary schools, both intrinsic and extrinsic factors used to motivate employees contribute to increased employee performance. To assess the level of motivation of Yaoundé Adventist Secondary School and Odza Bilingual Adventist Academic Complex employees, to examine the relationship between employee motivation and performance, and to find strategies to motivate employees that will enhance job performance, the researcher used cross-sectional survey and focus group discussion to solicit the opinions of 239 employees from the YASS and the OBAC. The findings revealed that there was no relationship between employee motivation and performance at both schools. Participants suggested that the most important factor to motivate employees is achievement with a mean of 4.14, followed by advancement (3.88), growth (3.79) and work itself (3.73). The researcher recommended that management should take steps to improve working conditions, salary and incentives, and training in order to get the employees who contribute their maximum effort to improve their performances at the selected schools.en_US
