The study was born out of the desire of the researcher to see Seventh-day Adventist church ministry and evangelism to grow faster than the present condition. There may not be a better time to carry out this type of research than now when the whole church in Nigeria is undergoing re-organisation that is unprecedented in the history of the church in this part of the world. The research looked at the foundation and principles of evangelism in the Bible in history and in other materials like the writings of Ellen White. However, because the study was limited to Lagos, there was the need to take a look at the historical background of Lagos and how it has developed over the years in becoming a megacity especially during the period of the 20 years under review. For the purpose of the work to be achieved there was the need to identify the target of people to be reached with our gospel (the rich and influential) and the different strategies to be used in reaching them. The last part of the research dealt with what the different arms of church could do as a matter of urgency to make sure that not only the poor will be reached by the gospel but also the rich and influential ones because Jesus died for everybody.en_US
